Ian Baker

Principal Ian Baker qualified as a solicitor in 1997 after several years of working in management for the public sector. He established Bakers Solicitors in 2002 and the firm cover a broad range of litigation specialising in Criminal defence work, (including regulatory offences) Family Law, Licensing, Immigration and general litigation. Ian is also a member of the High Peak Duty Solicitor scheme.

Angela Thorp

Angela Thorp joined Bakers Solicitors in 2009 having gained considerable experience in all aspects of Family Law since she first qualified in 1999. Angela started her career in retail management before becoming a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and progressing to become a fully qualified solicitor. Angela deals with a broad range of Family Law including divorce, separation, financial matters, children matters and care proceedings. Angela also qualified as a trained mediator in June 2011.

David Parkes

David Parkes qualified as a solicitor in 2006 having undertaken training in the areas of family and criminal law. David spent the first 6 years of his career working in a busy Manchester practice before joining Bakers Solicitors in January 2011. David specialises and concentrates on all aspects of Family Law including divorce, separation, financial disputes and children law including care proceedings. David represents clients in various courts throughout the area including Manchester, Ashton Under Lyne, Buxton, Chesterfield and Derby. David is a member of Resolution and of the Law Society Children’s Panel.
Kirsten Collings

Kirsten Collings qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and after several years of experience joined Bakers Solicitors in 2005. Prior to qualifying Kirsten ran a successful insurance business based in Buxton. Kirsten deals exclusively in Criminal Law and qualified as a Higher Court Advocate in 2011. Kirsten undertakes a range of Magistrates’ Court, Crown Court, High Court and Court of Appeal defence work. Kirsten is also a member of the High Peak Duty Solicitor scheme.

Lisa Tinsley

Lisa Tinsley qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and joined Bakers Solicitors in June 2010. Specialising in criminal defence work, Lisa deals with both privately and publically funded cases and is a member of the High Peak Duty Solicitor scheme. Lisa is also the resident Road Traffic offence caseload specialist.

Claire Aldridge

Claire Aldridge has been in practice since 2003 and spent the first four years of her career working for a large Manchester firm. Claire qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and joined Bakers Solicitors in June that year. Claire has several years’ experience in criminal defence work and is a member of the High Peak Duty Solicitor scheme. Claire specialises in Family Law, and has a particular interest in children matters and care proceedings.

Kurshida Begum

Kurshida Begum was admitted to the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2007 and was subsequently called to the bar in July 2010. After several years of experience in general Immigration work at all levels, Kurshida joined Bakers Solicitors in January 2011 to cross qualify as a solicitor. Kurshida undertakes a broad range of work for the firm specialising in Immigration, Crime and Licensing.

Samantha Hanson

Samantha Hanson has been with Bakers Solicitors since its inception in 2002 and initially joined as a Legal Secretary. Prior to joining, Samantha spent one year at Davis Blank Furniss and has also worked as a claims handler for the insurance industry. Progressing rapidly to the position of Litigation Executive, Samantha was subsequently made Crown Court Manager in 2008 since when she has been undertaking her own case load and supervision of Crown Court work and appeal cases. In April 2011 Samantha was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.

Tony Dales
Office and Licensing Manager Email Tony Dales
Tony Dales joined Bakers Solicitors in June 2011 after a long and successful career in the public sector and undertakes a role as both Office and Licensing Manager. Tony spent the last twelve years of his long career working within a busy licensing department and liaising with a wide range of agencies in licensing matters. As well as offering assistance with court and licensing hearings on behalf of Bakers Solicitors, Tony is BIIAB accredited to administer licensing courses. In his capacity of Office Manager Tony also embraces the Human Resource lead for the firm.
